About virtual reality training

“Our role is to save lives. This technology enables us to teach and retrain safe work procedures to new and experienced miners in a virtual mine before they are exposed to the hazards of a real mine environment.”
Ron Land, Executive Director of Coal Service Pty Ltd.

Coal Services Pty Limited has developed the most advanced real world Virtual Reality (VR) facilities using state of the art VR Platforms comprising Domes, Curved Screen & 360 degree 3D Theatres.

Our Virtual Reality Training System is accurate and realistic, allowing trainees to experience and respond to real hazards in a safe and controlled environment, before actually encountering them in the worplace.

Virtual Reality Training creates accurate and realistic virtual environments, where a trainee's response to the situation affects outcome.

As such, it delivers the highest quality training and outcomes that could be life saving.

Reduce the risk of training in a dangerous environment, reduce production interruptions, overall training costs and build team cohesiveness and skill levels.

Miners are prompted to make decisions about how to deal with these situations through group discussions. The system provides feedback on correct or incorrect responses as part of the assessment process. Training usually occurs in groups of 12 to 15 people.

The system can simulate and teach miners about unaided underground self-escape, underground rib and roof stability and open cut truck and shovel operations, along with a range of other important skills.

The simulation scenarios are tailored to address particular aspects of the core competency standards for mine worker accreditation. However, similar safety training packages could be developed for high-risk industries; in fact, any industry that has training needs.
